We invite you to join us on an embodied, alchemical journey to plant the seeds for our emergent future.
Working with the elements both internal and external, we will cultivate a relationship of deep reciprocity with our body and the earth as we realign with our soul compass.
This will be both a mystical and deeply grounding exploration into visioning the new world we want to birth for ourself, for our community and for our planet.
LOCATION:
Costa Rica is one of the few places left on Earth that still retains such a richness of biodiversity and untouched, unspoilt beauty. The country is in total reverence of its nature and thus the land is kept utterly sacred. Brave Earth community is situated about 2.5 hours West of San José. Nestled in lush and untouched rainforest, the natural world is alive and thriving here. Complete with epic, crystalline waterfalls, a biodynamic farm and a soothing temporate climate, this paradise is like no other.
BRAVE EARTH:
A Model for Regenerative Living
Brave Earth is a new community and retreat centre set up by a group of Mystical Anarchists. They believe in working in symbiosis with the earth, and have created a totally ecologically-friendly and sustainable haven based on principles of biomimicry and reciprocity. We chose Brave Earth because the land, the field around the project and the community themselves are all living and breathing the new world we want to build.
Their mission is to create a new type of model - a living laboratory - in service to regeneration that is decentralised, resilient, and replicable. They also want to help create a network of communities around the world that are united through shared values in order to create a more unified global field.
A percentage of the investment of the retreat goes towards the Brave Earth project ‘Fuerza Del Amor’ that provides infrastructure and financial support to the local Costa Rican community who live in the area.
Daily Schedule:
Before breakfast there will be an epic morning practice weaving meditation, sound, breath, journalling, embodiment and movement. This will be our big maha practice of the day.
The program of the afternoons/evenings will shift according to the themes we will be moving through, but you can expect activities and ceremonies such as introduction to permaculture and earth therapy, cacao ceremony & kirtan (devotional singing), temazcal sweat lodge ceremony, sacred activism talk, waterfall excursion, sound healing, authentic relating and more.
You will enjoy two big delicious vegetarian meals a day - a post-practice brunch and dinner, with fruits and teas available throughout the day.
It will be a time to cleanse our being, honour what has been lost in the wildfire of 2020/2021, re-ignite our soul, re-initiate togetherness and community and call forth our deepest visioning for this next evolutionary push of the new age.
Guest speakers and workshop facilitators:
Scott Gallant is a permaculture designer and educator with nearly a decade of experience working in Central America. He is the co-founder of Porvenir Design, a landscape design firm specializing in productive landscapes. He graduated from Wabash College in 2008 with a degree in Economics. He was the farm manager at Rancho Mastatal for nine years, and has worked with diverse projects such as VersaLand, Open Source Ecology, Project Bonafide and many more as he has developed his skill-set in permaculture design.
Passionate about regenerative agriculture, holistic thinking, ethnobotany, community development, and re-skilling, he passionate about decolonising permaculture and making permaculture accessible to all.
Jeya Lorenz has spent her life working in between NGOs, wellbeing and ecology. She has spent the past few years doing a deep dive into different ways of living more sustainably and harmoniously with the Earth, experiencing life in different kinds of farms, communities and land regeneration projects. She is a certified coach and loves working one on one with people to support them in building regenerative lives for themselves both in their emotional, psychical and spiritual bodies that are synergistic with the Earth’s rhythm and health.
Alnoor Ladha will be giving a workshop on Sacred Activism and his work as one of the founders here at Brave Earth. Alnoor comes from a Sufi lineage and writes about the crossroads of politics and spirituality in troubled times. His work focuses on the intersection of political organizing, systems thinking, structural change, and narrative work. He was the co-founder and Executive Director of The Rules(TR), a global network of activists, organizers, designers, coders, researchers, writers, and others focused on changing the rules that create inequality, poverty, and climate change.
